Azerbaijan U21 team repeats anti-record with heavy defeat

The Azerbaijan national team of under-21 football players has unfortunately matched an unwelcome record in its history.

As reported by Idman.biz, the team has experienced its third largest defeat in the qualifying stages of the European Championships.

Coached by Samir Aliyev, the team concluded the EURO-2025 qualifying round with a disappointing 7-0 loss to England, the founding nation of football. This defeat marks the heaviest loss in the team's history, repeating a pattern that has seen the team concede 7 goals in matches against Austria and Germany in the past.

This is the sixth time in the history of the Azerbaijan U-21 team that they have lost by six or more goals.

The team has suffered three losses by 7 goals and two by 6 goals.

England joins Austria as the only team to win against Azerbaijan by both 6 and 7 goal margins.
