Azerbaijani champions Qarabag are gearing up for their next European Cup match tomorrow.
According to Idman.biz, Gurban Gurbanov's team will take on Malmö in the second round of the Europa League group stage.
This match marks Qarabag’s first home game of the current season in the prestigious tournament.
The team began the group stage with a challenging away match against Tottenham in England, where they suffered a 0-3 defeat. Tomorrow's match will be the first of four home games for Qarabag in this stage of the competition.
This will be the 11th time the Aghdam club has competed in the main stage of European tournaments, and they have a strong record in their opening home matches. In the last three seasons, Qarabag has not allowed any goals in their first home matches.
Over the past two years, the club has secured clean-sheet victories in their first home matches of the group stage, winning against Nantes (3-0) and Molde (1-0). Before these successes, Basel was held to a goalless draw in the Conference League.
In the previous 10 seasons of group stage play, Qarabag has achieved 3 wins, 3 draws, and 4 losses in their first home matches. The team has participated in the Champions League in 2017 and the Conference League in 2021, with the remaining 8 appearances in the Europa League.
