Unexpected start from men's chess, women defeated Slovenia

The European inter-team Chess Championship has started today in Budva, Montenegro.

Idman.biz reports that in the first round of the competition, the men's national team of Azerbaijan faced Denmark.

Azerbaijan, the number one ranking team of the tournament, unexpectedly lost. On the second board, Shahriyar Mammadyarov lost with white pieces and this affected the final result.

The female chess players of Azerbaijan were stronger than Slovenia. Having one loss and one draw in the first two boards, the team ended the match with a victory thanks to the Azerbaijani chess players in the 3rd and 4th boards.
