The international chess festival Guba Open has kicked off in Guba.
The tournament is being held as part of the Chess Tour Azerbaijan initiative by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Idman.biz reports.
A total of 48 players are competing in the A tournament, with 20 of them securing their first victories.
Among the winners are Azerbaijani players Murad Muradli, Khagan Ahmad, as well as Evgeny Romanov (North Macedonia), Vitaliy Bernadskiy (Ukraine), and Mikheil Kekelidze (Georgia).
The tournament is held in a nine-round Swiss system format.
