The international chess festival Guba Open kicks off today in Guba.
The tournament is being held as part of the Chess Tour Azerbaijan initiative by the Azerbaijan Chess Federation, Idman.biz reports.
In Tournament A, 42 players will compete. Among them is Azerbaijani representative and one of the rating favorites, Mahammad Muradli. Other notable participants include Evgeny Romanov (North Macedonia), Vitaliy Bernadskiy (Ukraine), Mikheil Kekelidze (Georgia), and Khagan Ahmad, who recently won the Lankaran Open tournament.
Tournament B will feature 180 players.
The competition will be held in 9 rounds under the Swiss system.
