The winners of the traditional Great Silk Way international tournament among male boxers have been determined in Baku.

Idman.biz reports that 121 athletes from 11 countries competed in the 5-day competition.

Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Sahil Babayev also watched the final fights organized in the Boxing Center.

Hasan Malikov (48 kg) met Temirtas Zhussupov from Kazakhstan in the decisive match of our team. Malikov, who defeated his opponent with a score of 3:2 (30:27, 28:29, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28), won the gold medal.

In 57 kg, Shamil Asgarov also advanced to the top of the podium. After the first round, Khudoynazar Fayzov (Uzbekistan) refused to fight, so Asgarov won the title.
Their success was repeated by Tayfur Aliyev (63.5 kg). The winner of the European Games was stronger than Abdullah Madaminov (Uzbekistan) in the final - 3:2 (29:28, 28:29, 28:29, 29:28, 29:28).

Among our other boxers, Azrak Babirov (60 kg), Murad Allahverdiyev (86 kg) and Alfonso Dominguez (92 kg) took the second place.
The President of the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation Sahil Babayev and the Minister of Youth and Sports Farid Gayibov also participated in the awarding ceremony. They awarded winners in 48 kg and 57 kg respectively.

Thus, the Azerbaijani national team finished the Great Silk Way with 21 medals. Marjona Savriyeva (50 kg), Zeynab Rahimova (54 kg) first in our team, Mehpara Mammadova (48 kg), Gunel Rahimova (50 kg), Lala Namazli (63 kg) second, Anakhanim Ismayilova (50 kg), Nargiz Zeynalova (54 kg), Mahsati Hamzayeva, Aysu Darvishova (both 60 kg), Malik Hasanov (63.5 kg), Ilgar Salahov (67 kg), Kamran Shahsuvarli, Mirsharif Kazimzade (both 75 kg), Sarkhan Budagovla (80 kg) and Mahammad Abdullayev (+92 kg) was the third.

Azerbaijan national team took the second place in the team score with 5 gold, 6 silver and 10 bronze medals. Uzbekistan took the first place (5-7-6), and Kazakhstan (3-2-1) closed the top 3.

In the tournament, Shamil Askerov (Azerbaijan) was chosen as the best boxer, Nasreddin Mammadov (Azerbaijan) as the best judge.
