The semi-final round of the Great Silk Way international tournament among female boxers has ended in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that 2 athletes of the Azerbaijan national team reached the finals.
Boxers of the team Anakhanim Ismayilova and Marjona Savrieva faced each other in 50 kg. The match ended with a 3:2 victory of the second team. Savrieva will fight with Gunel Rahimova (Azerbaijan) in the final.
Zeynab Rahimova also won the semi-final match. Rahimova, who tested her strength at 54 kg, defeated Italian Olena Savchuk - 3:2. She will clarify her relationship with Shahina Nematova (Uzbekistan) in the decisive match.
In addition to Ismayilova, Nargiz Zeynalova (54 kg), Mahsati Hamzayeva and Aysu Darvishova (both 60 kg) finished the tournament with bronze medals. They lost to Shakhina Nematova (Uzbekistan), Rebecca Nicoli (Italy) and Vivien Budai (Hungary), respectively.
The final fights of female boxers will take place on March 27. Mehpara Mammadova (48 kg) will test her strength against Erika Prisciandaro (Italy) and Lala Namazli (63 kg) against Canfora Assunta (Italy) for the gold medal tomorrow.
It should be noted that the fight of male boxers in the Great Silk Way, where 121 athletes from 11 countries participated, will end on March 28.
