On March 24, the Great Silk Way international tournament between male and female boxers will start in Baku.
Idman.biz reports that the national teams of 11 countries will compete in the traditional competition that will last for 5 days.
The teams of Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Iran, Italy, Pakistan and Hungary will test their strength in the tournament, which will be held at the Baku Boxing Center. Men's boxers will decide the winner in 13 and women's 5 weight classes.
The opening ceremony of the tournament, which will be attended by 121 athletes, will be held at 13:30. Half an hour later, the battles will begin. The competition will be concluded on March 28.
Azerbaijan's team will participate in the Great Silk Way with 34 male and 9 female boxers.
It should be noted that the supervisor of the tournament will be Dragoljub Radovic from Serbia, and the chief referee will be Anar Babanli. International referees will also be included in the teams that will participate in the competition.
