Azerbaijani boxer Ali Bakhishov has reached the final of the U19 European Championships in Loznica, Serbia.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation, Bakhishov defeated Türkiye's Furkan Avar in the 60 kg semifinal.
The Azerbaijani boxer claimed a 3-2 split-decision victory, with the judges scoring the bout 28-29, 30-27, 29-28, 30-27 and 28-29.
Bakhishov will face Italy's Daniele Fabi in the final for the European title.
Meanwhile, Azerbaijan's Banuchichek Nasirli (48 kg) finished the tournament with a bronze medal after losing to Ireland's Ellen Joyce in the semifinal.
