Another Azerbaijani boxer has advanced to the semifinals of the U-19 European Championships in Loznica, Serbia.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Azerbaijan Boxing Federation announced the result.
National team member Ali Bakhishov, competing in the 60 kg weight category, defeated Slovakia's Kristian Harasiki 4-1 to book his place in the semifinals.
By reaching the last four, the Azerbaijani boxer has guaranteed himself at least a bronze medal. Bakhishov will face Türkiye's Furkan Avar on August 20 for a place in the final.
Earlier, Azerbaijan's Banuchichek Nasirli also reached the semifinals in the 48 kg category. She will fight Ireland's Ellen Joyce on August 20 for a place in the final.
Thus, Azerbaijan currently has two guaranteed medals at the U-19 European Championships in Loznica.
