Vadim Kutukov, the winner of the European Beach Volleyball Cup, which was held for the first time in history, told Idman.biz.
The volleyball player of "Murov AZ Terminal" said that although the final match was difficult, the most intense matches were in the group stage: "Because there was no golden set in the group stage, we had a big burden on us. But we were able to throw off that burden with ease."
An experienced volleyball player revealed the secret of victory. According to him, the fact that they are more of a family than a team was the main factor that formalized the Championship: "We are not a team, we are a family. We have a very nice sincere friendship. After winning, we congratulated each other. The team's coach, manager, head of the team were all happy."
Kutukov said that the strongest volleyball players of Europe participated in the competition and said that the Championship won in a duel with strong opponents increased the self-confidence of the team: "Participants of the Olympics, pairs at the top of the ranking competed. That's why we were very happy after every victory. Although we did not come to the competition as favorites, we proved to everyone that there will be beach volleyball in Azerbaijan and we will achieve greater success in the future. I would like to thank the leadership of the Federation and the Ministry of Youth and Sports for the conditions created for us. We wrote history. All of Europe realized that there is beach volleyball in Azerbaijan."
He emphasized that his main goals are to prepare for the license tournaments and to qualify for the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
It should be noted that our team consisting of Oleg Stoyanovski, Ilya Leshukov, Vadim Kutukov, Vugar Bayramov, Ulvi Rajabli, Heydar Mammadli won against "TVF Sports High School SC Ankara" in the final.
