Every year on May 7, World Children's Athletics Day is celebrated.
On this occasion, an event called KidsRunFest was held, organized by World Athletics, the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Azerbaijan Athletics Federation, the Zafar Running Club and the Camphood company, Idman.biz reports.
More than 200 children aged 8-13 competed in the competition. The participants tested their strength in running at various distances in the competition held on the Seaside Boulevard. The winners were determined in the 600, 800, 1000 and 1200 meter distances among girls and boys in different age categories.
These global events dedicated to World Children's Athletics Day each year aim to inspire children and adolescents to develop their skills and potential by using the power of athletics. The Azerbaijan Athletics Federation also stands out among the member federations of World Athletics by participating at the highest level in Children's Athletics Day.
