2 judges can represent Azerbaijan in the wrestling competitions of the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games.
Garib Aliyev, Chairman of the Federation's Board of Judges, told Idman.biz.
He said: “Sadi Guliyev and Asif Shiraliyev are considered real candidates for refereeing at the Olympics to be held in the capital of France. Following the invitation of the World Wrestling Federation to watch the Azerbaijani judges in the world championships in Paris-2024 is not an exception. According to the management in 3 competitions, their assignment to the Summer Olympic Games can be formalized. We believe that our judges will justify their trust and represent Azerbaijan in Paris-2024.”
The Chairman of the Board of Judges said that there are 23 international wrestling judges in Azerbaijan: "3 of them are I-S, 9 I, 4 II and 7 III category. Khayal Aliyev and Eldar Bayramov also took the exam to move from category III to category II. Their answers will be known by the end of the year."
It should be noted that a day ago, Zaur Sharifov, won the I category, and Kamran Bakhishov won the III category.
