Former Greco-Roman wrestler of the Azerbaijan national team, Jabbar Yusif, was on trial.
Idman.biz reports that the court of Moscow, the capital of Russia, sentenced the former athlete who was arrested in March 2023.
He was found guilty of selling weapons and was sentenced to 3 years and 2 months in prison. Jabbar, who was also wanted by Interpol until his arrest, was accused of possessing illegal weapons in Russia and murder in Ukraine.
It should be noted that Yusif was a prize winner of the 2014 Summer Youth Olympic Games.
