Former Qarabag and Azerbaijan national team midfielder Richard Almeida has sparked speculation about a possible return to Azerbaijan after sharing an emotional message on social media.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 37-year-old footballer posted a message in Portuguese on his Instagram story, accompanied by the Azerbaijani flag.
"A good son returns home. Reuniting with good friends, no longer having to miss them, remembering the beautiful moments when we were always happy..." Almeida wrote.
The post once again highlights the Brazilian-born midfielder's strong emotional connection with Azerbaijan, where he spent most of his professional career.
However, Almeida has not confirmed his current location or revealed the purpose of a possible visit.
The midfielder left Qarabag in February 2025 to continue his career in Brazil. In March 2026, he moved from Primavera to XV de Piracicaba, although his current contractual status remains unclear.
In September, Almeida also revealed that he had undergone surgery following a knee ligament injury.
During his time at Qarabag, Almeida made 376 appearances, scored 64 goals, won nine Azerbaijani Premier League titles and lifted the national cup five times.
He also represented the Azerbaijan national team in 31 matches, scoring three goals.
