Real Madrid head coach Jose Mourinho has strongly criticized La Liga president Javier Tebas following his controversial comparison of the club's television channel to propaganda techniques used in Nazi Germany.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AS, the dispute escalated after Tebas published a post on X comparing the methods employed by Real Madrid TV to those associated with Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Germany's propaganda minister.
"This method resembles the propaganda mechanisms used by Goebbels, the propaganda minister of Nazi Germany: systematic repetition, the construction of an enemy and the subordination of facts to a narrative," Tebas wrote.
The La Liga president subsequently clarified that his comparison referred specifically to propaganda techniques rather than Nazi ideology or Real Madrid supporters.
However, the explanation failed to satisfy the Spanish giants, who issued an official statement calling for Tebas' resignation.
Asked about the controversy, Mourinho refused to discuss the matter in detail but made his disapproval clear.
"I don't want to talk about it. There are limits to everything. The only possible excuse for him would be if this were a clinical case. Otherwise, there is no excuse," Mourinho said.
The Portuguese coach also suggested that Real Madrid supporters were fully aware of the challenges facing their club.
"I don't want to go any deeper into this. Real Madrid fans understand what they are dealing with," he added.
Mourinho emphasized the importance of protecting the international reputation of Spanish football and avoiding further public confrontation.
"For the sake of the prestige our league enjoys abroad, and because we are the reigning world champions, it would be better to try to keep this matter within Spain rather than air our dirty laundry in public," he concluded.
The controversy has intensified tensions between Real Madrid and the La Liga leadership, with the club's demand for Tebas' resignation adding another dimension to their ongoing disagreements.
