Galatasaray target €15 million Swiss striker ahead of January transfer window

Turkish football giants Galatasaray are reportedly planning to sign Sion striker Winsley Boteli during the upcoming January transfer window.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the Istanbul club have once again included the 20-year-old Swiss forward on their transfer shortlist.

Galatasaray previously attempted to sign Boteli during the summer transfer window, but negotiations failed to produce an agreement, and the youngster remained at Sion.

The striker has since attracted further attention with his impressive performances in Switzerland.

Last season, Boteli scored 11 goals in 38 appearances for Sion. However, he has significantly improved his attacking statistics this campaign, registering 13 goals and five assists in just 16 matches.

His strong form has also led to a substantial increase in his market value.

When Galatasaray initially expressed interest, Boteli was valued at approximately €5 million. According to Transfermarkt's latest update, that figure has now tripled to €15 million.

Despite their renewed interest, Galatasaray face a significant obstacle in completing the transfer.

The club have already filled their quota for young foreign players, meaning squad adjustments will be necessary before Boteli can be registered.

According to the report, Galatasaray intend to part ways with Lesley Ugochukwu and El Chadaille Bitshiabu before taking concrete steps toward signing the Swiss striker.

Boteli's impressive goalscoring record and rapid rise in market value could make him one of the notable young attacking prospects to watch during the winter transfer window.
