The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) has handed a 12-year ban to Chinese tennis player Pang Renlong for organizing match-fixing, Idman.Biz reports.
According to the ITIA, the 25-year-old admitted that between May and September 2024 he was involved in fixing or attempting to fix 22 matches. He accepted the sanctions without requesting a hearing, acknowledging manipulation of five of his own singles matches at ITF World Tennis Tour M15 and M25 events as well as at an ATP Challenger 50 tournament. In addition, Pang made 17 corrupt approaches to other players, which resulted in six more fixed matches.
Alongside the ban, Pang was fined $110,000, with $70,000 suspended. The period of provisional suspension, in effect since November 7, 2024, has been taken into account, with the ban set to run until November 6, 2036, provided all fines are paid.
Pang, who reached a career-high world ranking of No. 1316 in November 2024, is prohibited during his suspension from playing, coaching, or attending any tournaments sanctioned by bodies under the ITIA, including the ATP, ITF, WTA, and national federations.
