Former Swiss tennis player Roger Federer has assessed Novak Djokovic's chances of winning US Open 2026.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Federer stressed that the Serbian remains a contender for the title whenever he enters a tournament.
"I think whenever Novak is in a tournament, whether it's a Grand Slam or any other event, he has a chance. That's my opinion. I have enormous respect for Novak. I've seen what he's capable of more than once. He's done it everywhere and at the highest level. I always think that as long as he's in the draw, he has a chance.
"I think that's one of the reasons why he's still playing: because he genuinely believes he can still achieve success. We played almost 50 times on all surfaces and on the biggest courts in the world. It was a pleasure to play against him. An incredible player, an outstanding fighter. He developed his game, became stronger and better. It's incredible that he's still competing at 39. I'm very impressed," Punto de Break quoted Federer as saying.
Djokovic is a 24-time Grand Slam singles champion and has won the US Open four times during his career.
US Open 2026 will take place from August 30 to September 13.
