"Azerbaijan organized in such a way that I don’t expect the World Championship to be held at this level again."
İdman.biz informs that the General Secretary of the International Shooting Sports Federation (ISSF) Willy Grill said this in a statement to journalists after the closing ceremony of the World Championship held in Baku.
Stating that the organization is at a high level, the ISSF official mentioned several noteworthy points: "I have participated in many world championships and 9 Olympics. Azerbaijan is the first in terms of organization. 14 world records were broken here. So far, there have not been so many records in the World Cup. At the same time, 48 licenses were given to the Olympiad, which is a great achievement."
Willy Grill said that the opening and closing ceremony, as well as the competition, were held perfectly: "For this, I thank the government of Azerbaijan, the Azerbaijan Shooting Federation. This is the result of the work of a whole team, not just one person. I would like to emphasize the activities of EminJafarov, the general secretary of the Federation. He is not my friend but my brother, he helped us a lot. At the same time, I thank the volunteers. They were the most active volunteers I have seen in my 30-year career. It was difficult for me to do the closing ceremony in Azerbaijan, my native country."
In the end, the general secretary thanked the press representatives: "Your presence here is very important in terms of coverage of the competition and the development of sports shooting."
