Azerbaijani athletes have claimed three medals on the opening day of the President Cup 2025 Regatta, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth.
Idman.biz, citing AZERTAC, reports that the first stage of the competition was held at the Sugovushan Reservoir and featured 200-meter kayak-canoe races, Idman.biz reports.
Azerbaijan’s Amil Ramazanov, Alimurad Hacizade, and Mustafa Valizada each secured a bronze medal in the individual kayak category.
Following the races, a medal ceremony was held to honor the winners.
The İnternational President Cup 2025 Regatta brings together over 200 athletes from more than 20 countries. After today's events in Sugovushan, the competition will continue on May 1–2 at the Kur Olympic Training and Sports Center in Mingachevir.
