The wrestling competitions at the Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games continue.
Idman.biz reports that the freestyle wrestlers competing in two more weights took to the mat today.
Men’s Freestyle
74 kg
Turan Bayramov started the fight from the 1/8 Elimination Round. The three-time winner of the European championships met Albanian Chermen Valiev in the first match. Although Bayramov was ahead with a score of 3:0, he lost in the end with a score of 3:4.
125 kg
Giorgi Meshvildishvili met Egypt's Diaaeldin Kamal for a place in the quarterfinals. Azerbaijan’s representative defeated the opponent with the score of 4:0. Following Meshvildishvili, Lkhagvagerel Munkhtur (Mongolia) also competed. Azerbaijan’s wrestler, who defeated his opponent with a score of 12:2, advanced to the semifinals.
On the way to the final, the Azerbaijani athlete lost 0:7 to Geno Petriashvili (Georgia). Giorgi will compete for the bronze medal on August 10. His opponent will be determined in the consolation match.
Aliabbas Rzazade (57 kg) and Osman Nurmagomedov (86 kg) said goodbye to the Olympics, Haji Aliyev (65 kg) and Magomedkhan Magomedov (97 kg) will go to the mat tomorrow.
