The Khankendi City Stadium is being rebuilt.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Aghdere and Khojaly District Restoration, Construction, and Management Service, the work has intensified in preparation for the upcoming 3rd CIS Games, Idman.biz reports.
The stadium’s construction is planned to be completed by September of this year. Originally inaugurated in 1956, the Khankendi stadium has a capacity of 15,000 spectators. During the Soviet era, Aghdam’s Qarabag football club played its home matches at this venue.
The stadium will include changing rooms for players, conference rooms, medical facilities, and rooms for referees and technical staff. According to the project, the stadium will also feature ticket sales points, various public catering facilities, above-ground parking lots, and control checkpoints.
The archery competitions of the 3rd CIS Games are scheduled to take place at Khankendi City Stadium in September.
