Estelle Cruyff, the former wife of Netherlands and AC Milan legend Ruud Gullit, has spoken about the incident that led to the breakdown of their marriage.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Cruyff made the revelations during an appearance on Dutch television, describing the moment she says she discovered her husband with another woman.
"It happened because I caught my husband with another woman in my living room. I walked in with the children, and both my daughter and my son saw everything. That is why I divorced him. It is not something you can forget quickly. Of course, these feelings diminish over time. Time heals all wounds, but you do not always have time to wait. It is not about how long it takes," she said.
Cruyff later fell in love with Badr Hari, a Moroccan-Dutch world champion kickboxer who is 21 years younger than her.
"There is something Ruud needs to know. Badr did not steal me from Ruud... Ruud himself gave me to him. When I told him I was leaving, he became very angry. Of course, Ruud had relationships with other women. He was always unfaithful to me throughout our marriage. Of course, I knew about it. Naturally, he denied it every time. Over the years, my trust in him diminished. In the end, I did not trust him at all," Estelle said.
Gullit, one of the most celebrated players in Dutch football history, won the Ballon d'Or in 1987 and was a key member of the Netherlands team that claimed the 1988 European Championship. He also enjoyed a highly successful club career with AC Milan, winning two European Cups.
