Kangaroo interrupts MotoGP practice at Australian Grand Prix

An unexpected visitor caused a dramatic interruption during the second free practice session of the Australian MotoGP Grand Prix at Phillip Island on October 23.

As reported by İdman.Biz, a kangaroo suddenly appeared on the circuit, forcing race officials to wave red flags and temporarily suspend the session.

The unusual incident occurred just eight minutes after practice had resumed following an earlier stoppage. The kangaroo ran onto the track before jumping over a barrier and leaving the circuit, allowing the session to continue safely.

It was the second red-flag interruption of the practice session. The first occurred approximately 10 minutes before the scheduled finish when Marco Bezzecchi collided with Alex Marquez at the exit of Turn 4.

Bezzecchi struck the rear of Marquez's motorcycle, causing a large piece of fairing to break off before the Italian rider slid into the gravel trap. Officials stopped the session to clear debris from the circuit, while Marquez was able to continue.

Despite the incident, Bezzecchi topped the timesheets with a fastest lap of 1:26.775 aboard his Aprilia.

Raul Fernandez finished second, just 0.072 seconds behind, while Ducati's Marc Marquez completed the top three, 0.126 seconds off the pace.

Alex Marquez secured sixth place, 0.375 seconds behind the leader, while home favorite Jack Miller finished 12th, 0.823 seconds adrift.

Phillip Island, located off Australia's southern coast, is famous for its spectacular seaside setting and surrounding wildlife. Kangaroos and other native animals are occasionally spotted near the circuit, making wildlife encounters an unusual but familiar challenge for race organizers.
