The number of medals won by Azerbaijani athletes in international competitions in 2023 has been announced.
According to the information provided to Idman.biz by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, a total of 1472 medals were obtained.
799 (214 gold, 208 silver, 377 bronze) of the awards were Olympic, 587 (223 gold, 159 silver, 205 bronze) non-Olympic, 86 (27 gold, 31 silver, 28 bronze) in Paralympic sports. This is 635 medals more than in 2022.
This year, 464 of the awards were gold, 398 were silver and 610 were bronze.
It should be noted that the Azerbaijani athletes won 837 awards last year. 356 of them (116 gold, 101 silver, 139 bronze) were Olympic, 384 (110 gold, 105 silver, 169 bronze) were non-Olympic, 97 (44 gold, 18 silver, 35 bronze) were part of the Paralympic program.
