The Battle of Stockholm Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournament, featuring around 450 athletes from various countries, has been held in the Swedish capital.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AZERTAC, 16-year-old Amadeus Manguliyev, who lives in Sweden and represents Azerbaijan, competed in the tournament.
Weighing 104 kg, Manguliyev entered the adult white belt division in the over-100.5 kg weight category.
The Azerbaijani representative faced 22-year-old Swedish athlete Tor Papinniemi and secured a convincing 10-0 victory. Following the results of the competition, Manguliyev was awarded the gold medal.
The tournament took place at the Eriksdalshallen sports complex, with bouts held simultaneously across five mats. Athletes competed in various age and weight categories throughout the day.
This was not Manguliyev's first success of the year. On May 23, he won silver in the over-100.5 kg category at the Stockholm BJJ Open.
The 16-year-old has now collected four medals in 2026 – three golds and one silver.
