Sabah face Viking in crucial Champions League clash in Norway

Azerbaijani football club Sabah will play their fourth match of the UEFA Champions League league phase today, November 4, facing Norwegian side Viking away from home.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the team coached by Valdas Dambrauskas will take on Viking in Stavanger, with kick-off scheduled for 23:59 Baku time.

Dutch referee Sander van der Eijk has been appointed to officiate the encounter.

Sabah have collected three points from their opening three Champions League matches. The Azerbaijani champions suffered a heavy 4-0 defeat against Manchester United before losing 2-1 to Borussia Dortmund. However, they bounced back with an impressive 2-0 victory over Czech side Slavia Prague.

Viking, meanwhile, are still searching for their first victory in the competition's league phase. The Norwegian club have collected just one point from three matches, suffering identical 3-1 defeats away to Aston Villa and Stuttgart.

Their only point came in a thrilling 3-3 home draw against German giants Bayern Munich, demonstrating their ability to challenge Europe's strongest teams in front of their own supporters.

For Sabah, the upcoming encounter represents an important opportunity to improve their position in the 36-team league phase standings and strengthen their hopes of progressing to the knockout rounds.

It should be noted that after three matchdays, Sabah sit 25th in the league phase standings, while Viking occupy 33rd place.
