Napoli head coach Massimiliano Allegri is counting on his team to collect valuable points against Azerbaijani champions Sabah as the Italian side battles to qualify for the UEFA Champions League playoffs.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Italian manager made the remarks during a press conference ahead of Napoli's away match against Porto in Matchday 4 of the league phase.
"This is not our last chance. I think ten points will be enough to reach the playoffs. The match against Porto is important, but facing Manchester City will be an almost impossible task. Therefore, we will fight for qualification in our matches against Club Brugge, Sabah and Viking," Allegri said.
After three matches, Napoli sit 24th in the Champions League league phase standings with three points.
Sabah have also collected three points but occupy 25th place, trailing the Italian club on goal difference.
The two teams are set to meet in Baku on January 20, 2027, in Matchday 7 of the Champions League league phase. Kick-off is scheduled for 21:45 Baku time.
The encounter could prove crucial for both clubs as they seek to finish among the top 24 teams and secure a place in the knockout phase playoffs.
Meanwhile, Napoli will visit Porto today, November 4, while Sabah face Norwegian side Viking away from home.
