"I wanted it to be a first for the Azerbaijani people."
These were the words of Azerbaijani mountaineer Vafa Musayeva, speaking to Idman.biz.
The climber shared her impressions after reaching the summit of Lhotse, which stands at 8,516 meters. Musayeva stated that she is currently feeling well:
“This time I didn’t go just to climb Everest. I took on the challenge of conquering Lhotse, the fourth highest peak on the planet, in the same season as Everest. Thank God, I managed to achieve both.”
Notably, just two days prior, Musayeva had summited Mount Everest. After descending to a camp located at an altitude of 7,900–8,000 meters, she has now completed two climbs above 8,000 meters within three days.
Currently based at the base camp, the Azerbaijani mountaineer has spent more than four days above 8,000 meters in total.
