UFC CEO Dana White confirmed that the proposed fight at the White House is officially moving forward after holding talks in Washington D.C.
Idman.biz, citing The New York Times, reports that in July, The Athletic reported plans for the event to take place on presidential grounds during the United States’ 250th birthday celebration in 2026. Former President Donald Trump had publicly voiced his support for the fight, sharing the plan with a crowd in Iowa days earlier.
White shared a social media video Thursday, saying he was leaving Washington D.C. following a meeting with the White House that “could not have gone better.”
“This is going to be awesome,” White said. “I will have more details on that in the next couple of weeks, but we got it done today.”
The Athletic has reached out to the White House for comment.
Trump has long been a supporter of the UFC and Dana White, regularly attending fights during his presidency. Following his re-election for a second term in November, Trump famously walked out alongside White at UFC 309 to a standing ovation at Madison Square Garden. He also attended UFC 314 and UFC 316 in April and June.
News of the White House event has already prompted several fighters to publicly express interest in being part of the fight card.
