The World Karate Championship continues in Hungary.
Idman.biz reports that on the 4th day of the competition held in the capital city of Budapest, team competition classification and matches for bronze medals in parakarate were organized.
The men's team started the tournament confidently. After defeating Spain 3:1 in the first match, tatami masters did not give a chance to their Georgian opponents - 3:0.
The Azerbaijani team faced the Iranian team in the 1/4 finals. The fate of the couple, which is remembered for its tension, was decided by the last - 5th fight. Azerbaijani karate players, who won with a score of 3:2, advanced to the semi-finals.
The national team of Azerbaijan faced Jordan on the way to the final. The losing team will compete against the Italian team for the bronze medal.
2 members of the national team in parakarate - Vidadi Khaligov and Eldar Ahmadov held their match for the third place. However, both our representatives lost in the decisive match.
At the end of the day, the official opening ceremony of the World Championship was held. Azerbaijan national team also participated in the parade of teams. This was followed by official speeches. After the speeches of the officials and organizers of the World Karate Federation, the artistic part took place.
On the last two days of the World Championship, matches for prizes will be held. On October 29, they will face the men's team Italy. A day before, Irina Zaretska (68 kg) and Emilia Mitlinova (parakarate) will compete in the finals.
