Irina Zaretska qualified to the final of the World Championship for the 3rd time

The Karate World Championship has started in Budapest, Hungary.

According to Idman.biz, on the first day of the competition, there will be fights in 4 weight categories for men: 84 and +84 kg, and for women: 68 and +68 kg.

The Azerbaijani national team was represented in the committee in 3 of these weights. Among them, Irina Zaretska reached the final.

Turgut Hasanov lost to Mahir Juho (Bosnia and Herzegovina) 0:4 in the first round.

Asiman Gurbanli knocked out Nuno Moriera (Portugal) at the start - 5:1. Later, he was defeated by Kosa Tomas (Slovakia). Unfortunately, the Azerbaijani athlet did not make it to Ablay Toltay (Kazakhstan) in the 1/8 finals. The opponent won with a score of 6:3.

Women's
68 kg
Irina Zaretska joined the competition from the 1/16 final. Behind our world champion, who defeated Madeleine Schroeter (Germany) 6:1, she was stronger than Austrian Marina Vukovic - 6:0. Zaretska faced the American Skylar Lingl in the 1/4 finals. The intense match ended with a 3:2 victory for Azerbaijani representative.

Irina also recorded a match with Indonesian Zefanya Ceyco Georgıa in the semi-finals (5:5) and reached the final of the World Championship for the third time. Azerbaijani karateka will face Elena Quirici from Switzerland in the decisive match. The final will be on October 28.

Roman Heydarov passed two stages in kata.

It should be noted that the world championship will end on October 29.
