The opening ceremony of the European Cup in Rhythmic Gymnastics has taken place in Baku.
The event at the National Gymnastics Arena began with the parade of participating nations, Idmаn.biz reports.
Minister of Youth and Sports, Farid Gayibov, welcomed the athletes and wished them success in this prestigious competition. He also highlighted that alongside the European Cup, Azerbaijan is hosting two other major international events this week — the International President Cup 2025 Regatta and a judo championship. The minister emphasized the strong state support for sports in the country, noting that this commitment has led to remarkable progress in the development of gymnastics.
Following the official speeches, the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was performed, and the event continued with an artistic program.
The European Cup has brought together 175 gymnasts from 25 countries. The competition will run for four days.
