The Azerbaijani national artistic gymnastics team has announced its lineup for the European Championships to be held in Leipzig, Germany.
Among the selected gymnasts is Nikita Simonov, the World Cup winner in rings and silver medalist at last year’s European Championships, Idman.biz reports.
He will be joined by Ivan Tikhonov, Rasul Ahmadzada, Mansum Safarov, Murad Agharzayev, and Deniz Aliyeva.
A total of 37 countries will be represented at the continental event, featuring 165 male and 136 female gymnasts.
For the first time, the mixed team event, now included in the 2028 Olympics program, will also award medals.
The European Championships will take place from May 26 to 31.
