Azerbaijan’s artistic gymnast Nikita Simonov has expressed his joy at winning the World Cup, describing it as a very meaningful achievement in his career.
Idman.biz reports that speaking to Report, the 28-year-old athlete highlighted the hard work and dedication behind his success:
“I earned 5 medals in 5 events. I believe my professional performance speaks for itself. I’m sincerely grateful to the Ministry of Youth and Sports for their support and for creating the conditions that made this possible. I also want to thank the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation, my coaching team, medical staff, and everyone who supports and follows artistic gymnastics.”
Simonov, who was the winner of the Baku stage, also finished second in Cottbus, Osijek, Antalya, and Cairo.
Looking ahead, he shared his goals:
“I want to improve on my performance from last year’s European Championships. Achieving strong results at the World Championships and the Islamic Solidarity Games is among my main objectives.”
