A training camp has begun at the National Gymnastics Arena for the athletes of the Zagatala and Gakh Olympic sports complexes' rhythmic gymnastics category.
Idman.biz reports that the main goal of the preparations, which will continue until January 20, is to develop gymnastics in the regions and to strengthen the training of athletes.
11 gymnasts born in 2012-2017 participated in the training.
Sevda Ramazanova, the rhythmic gymnastics coach of Zagatala and Gakh Olympic sports complexes, said that both clubs have been operating since 2020: " We'll be training for a full week. We arrived at the National Gymnastics Arena with 11 persons this time, compared to the 4 that attended last year. Our gymnasts get more physically fit and acquire tool skills in preparation. We thank the Azerbaijan Gymnastics Federation for the conditions created for participation in these trainings. The organization of such preparations is of great importance for regional coaches."
She said that she would like to hold such exercises several times a year: "These training sessions help our gymnasts develop their skills a lot. Our major objective going into last year's training was to compete in more events and place highly. Naturally, we achieved our objectives, and this year we arrived with the same intention. My goal is to increase our medal count by double through larger-scale participation in events."
