The North Korean women's artistic gymnastics team will not compete at the 2026 World Championships in Rotterdam despite having qualified for the event.
As reported by İdman.Biz, North Korea finished fourth at the Asian Championships held in Zunyi, China, in June, earning a team quota place for the World Championships.
However, the list of participating teams published by World Gymnastics includes Malaysia instead of North Korea. The circumstances behind the change have not been officially explained.
The 2026 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships will take place in Rotterdam from October 17 to 25.
The competition will also form part of the qualification pathway for the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, adding further significance to North Korea's absence.
