The Azerbaijan women’s volleyball team opened their campaign at the VI Islamic Solidarity Games in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a win.
According to Idman.Biz, the team, coached by Faiq Qarayev, faced the Iranian national team.
The match at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex ended in a 3-0 victory for Azerbaijan (25-11, 25-16, 26-24).
Azerbaijan will next face Tajikistan on November 6. The Islamic Solidarity Games will conclude on November 21.

Azerbaijani representatives will begin their competitions today at the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
According to Idman.biz, the women’s national volleyball team will face Iran in their opening match. The game will start at 14:00 local time.
Meanwhile, the national futsal team will play against Libya in Group A. The match will be held at the Prince Faisal bin Fahd Olympic Complex and will kick off at 17:00 Baku time.
It should be noted that the opening ceremony of the Islamic Solidarity Games will take place on November 7, while the closing ceremony is scheduled for November 21.
