Azerbaijan national team and Araz-Nakhchivan futsal player Tofig Mikayilov has assessed the opponents his club will face in the main round of the UEFA Futsal Champions League.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Azerbaijani player described Polish side Piast as a particularly difficult opponent.
"Polish side Piast are a very tough opponent. They are a very strong team both in terms of their fan base and financially. They have many foreign futsal players in their squad. At the same time, Buba Mara of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ujpest of Hungary are not weak opponents either," Mikayilov told AZERTAC.
The player added that the current situation at Araz-Nakhchivan is not yet completely clear.
"The team has not been fully assembled yet. Everything will become clear soon," he said.
According to Mikayilov, Araz-Nakhchivan have traditionally made their presence felt in the Champions League and will once again try to go as far as possible.
"Our team will fight with all its strength this year as well. Every team that qualifies for the Champions League aims to progress as far as it can. It is better to leave the rest to time. Hopefully, everything will go well," he added.
The main-round matches will be held in Poland from October 27 to November 1. Araz-Nakhchivan will compete in Group 5 alongside Piast of Poland, Buba Mara of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Ujpest of Hungary.
Araz-Nakhchivan will make their 21st appearance in the competition. The Azerbaijani club are second only to Kazakhstan's Kairat in this regard
