“Sabah” player Pavol Safranko said this to Teleqraf after losing 0–2 at home to Bulgarian side “Levski” in the second leg of the UEFA Conference League third qualifying round, Idman.biz reports.
The 28-year-old forward said the opposing team played better: “They made the most of the chances they created. We, on the other hand, could not show the game we wanted in some episodes. As a result, we have to accept this reality and work harder in the next matches.”
The Slovak striker added that despite his individual success, the team failed to reach the playoff round: “In the previous two qualifying rounds, I scored four goals, but it wasn’t enough, and we couldn’t advance. As a club, we wanted to take a bigger step and achieve better results, but it didn’t happen. Of course, we are a bit disappointed. But this is football, and that’s life.”
