Qarabag bids farewell to three key players ahead of new season

Azerbaijani football club Qarabag has officially announced the departure of three of its players: Patrick Andrade, Marko Vesovic, and Yassine Benzia.

According to a statement released by the club’s press service, Qarabag has decided not to extend the contracts of Andrade and Vesovic, which have come to an end, Idman.biz reports.

The club expressed gratitude to both players for their contributions and wished them success in their future careers.

Patrick Andrade joined Qarabag in 2020 and made a significant impact during his tenure. Over the span of his time at the club, the midfielder played in 149 matches, scoring 16 goals and providing 16 assists.

Montenegrin defender Marko Vesovic has been with the Aghdam side since the 2021/2022 season. He appeared in 134 games, netting 5 goals and delivering 16 assists.

In a separate statement, Qarabag also confirmed the departure of Algerian midfielder Yassine Benzia. The 30-year-old joined the team in January 2023 and went on to play 104 matches. During this time, he scored 28 goals and provided 25 assists. Like his teammates, Benzia’s contract, which was set to expire this summer, will not be renewed.

The club thanked Benzia for his service and contributions to Qarabag’s success.
