Arda Güler leads La Liga in chances created despite limited playing time

Real Madrid's Turkish midfielder Arda Güler has emerged as La Liga's leading chance creator after the opening 11 rounds of the 2026/27 season, despite playing significantly fewer minutes than his closest rivals.

As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the statistical platform StatMuse, the 21-year-old has created 39 scoring opportunities for his teammates in 11 league appearances.

The Türkiye international achieved this impressive figure in just 654 minutes on the pitch, starting nine of those matches.

Güler's closest challenger is Racing's Iñigo Vicente, who has created 32 chances in 891 minutes. Barcelona star Lamine Yamal follows with 30 chances in 901 minutes, while Atletico Madrid midfielder Álex Baena has registered 26 in 691 minutes.

Remarkably, Güler has played 237 fewer minutes than Vicente and 247 fewer than Yamal, yet leads them by seven and nine chances created, respectively.

The difference becomes even more striking when calculated per 90 minutes. Güler averages 5.37 chances created per game, compared with 3.23 for Vicente, 3.00 for Yamal and 3.39 for Baena.

The Turkish playmaker also comfortably outperforms his Real Madrid teammates in this category. Jude Bellingham and Kylian Mbappé have each created 19 chances, putting them 20 behind Güler.

Beyond his creative contributions, Güler has also scored twice and provided three assists in his 11 La Liga appearances this season, meaning he has been directly involved in five goals.

These figures underline the midfielder's growing importance in Real Madrid's attacking system. His ability to create opportunities at a significantly higher rate than his competitors highlights both his efficiency and his influence on the team's offensive play.
