These were the words of Aqil Nabiyev, head coach of the Azerbaijan U-17 national football team, Idman.biz reports.
He shared his thoughts with AFFA's press service following the 1-1 friendly draw against Georgia’s U-17 team at the Gabala City Stadium:
“We had goal-scoring opportunities but couldn’t convert them. If the Georgian team is pleased with a draw, then it means we are on the right track. We fought well in both matches — against Kazakhstan and Georgia. Our team has great potential. I congratulated the boys on the character they showed. For their development, we need more training camps. I believe we can achieve great things with this group. We just need a bit more time.”
The U-17 national team defeated Kazakhstan 2-0 and drew 1-1 with Georgia during the training camp.
