The fate of Bayer head coach Xabi Alonso has been clarified.
Idman.biz reports that the Spanish specialist will not leave the German club.
Alonso will coach the Leverkusen representative at least until the summer of 2025. The release amount will be specified in his contract until the summer of 2026.
Liverpool have been dealt a serious blow in their search for a new manager when Xabi Alonso, the front-runner for the job, rejected them. Sporting Lisbon's Ruben Amorim and Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi are the top candidates. Amorim, 39, is anticipated to be given an interview after doing well in Liverpool's data tests.
It should be noted that the 42-year-old has been at Leverkusen for less than two years.
