Barcelona sporting director Deco has confirmed that the club are no longer considering a move for Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Deco said Barcelona have put the Argentine striker's potential transfer behind them and are focused on their current squad.
"Julian Alvarez is now in the past. We have to look forward, and we're happy with what we have. I hope he's doing well too and helping his club," journalist Fabrizio Romano quoted Deco as saying.
Alvarez had been strongly linked with Barcelona during the summer transfer window. The Argentina international reportedly pushed for a move to the Catalan club amid tensions with Atletico Madrid's management, but the Madrid side refused to sanction his departure.
Alvarez joined Atletico from Manchester City in the summer of 2024 after winning the Premier League, Champions League and FIFA Club World Cup with the English club. The forward was also part of Argentina's squad that won the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
