Matches of the 17th round of the Italian Serie A will take place, marking the final matchday of the calendar year.
According to İdman.Biz, the round will be held from December 27 to 29 and will conclude with the match between Roma and Genoa.
Ahead of the round, the battle at the top is extremely tight. Inter lead the standings with 33 points, followed by Milan with 32, while Napoli sit third on 31 points. The top five also includes Roma with 30 points and Juventus with 29, meaning any slip could immediately change the balance in the title race.
Cremonese vs Napoli (December 28)
One of the central fixtures of the round is Napoli’s away trip to Cremona.
Antonio Conte’s team approach the match in high spirits. On December 22, Napoli won the Italian Super Cup, defeating Bologna 2:0 in Riyadh, with both goals scored by David Neres. This trophy was Napoli’s first in the competition since 2014, and in the league standings ahead of Matchday 17 they are in third place.
Cremonese are currently 11th in the table with 21 points, and for the hosts this match represents a chance to test themselves against one of the title contenders. Napoli still have some squad concerns: Romelu Lukaku was close to returning after injury, while Kevin De Bruyne continues his recovery following surgery.
