The German Football Association (DFB) has fined clubs from the country’s three highest divisions more than 12 million euros for inappropriate fan behavior during the 2024/25 season.
One of the clubs with the highest total sanctions was Frankfurt’s "Eintracht", who are set to face Aghdam-based "Qarabag" in the UEFA Champions League, reports Idman.Biz.
The "Eagles" ranked second overall in terms of fines, receiving penalties exceeding 764,000 euros.
The largest fine was imposed on "Koln", who competed in the second Bundesliga last season. The Cologne-based club was fined more than 900,000 euros. Third place in the disciplinary ranking went to "Hamburg", with sanctions totaling 623,500 euros.
In total, disciplinary measures were applied to 56 German clubs.
It should be recalled that "Qarabag" and "Eintracht" will meet on January 21 in Baku during the league phase of the Champions League. The Frankfurt club will play at the Tofig Bahramov Stadium without the support of its fans, as UEFA punished "Eintracht" for the behavior of their supporters during the Matchday 6 Champions League game against "Barcelona" (1:2).
