Baku-based Neftchi are considering a move for 25-year-old Serbian winger Zeljko Gavric, who currently plays for Hungarian club Gyor ETO.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Hungarian media, Neftchi are showing serious interest in the player, while Gyor's management could agree to a sale if a suitable offer is received. However, the clubs have not yet reached an agreement, and the transfer remains uncertain.
Gavric was not included in Gyor ETO's squad for Sunday's match against Kispest Honved. Hungarian media have suggested that his absence may be connected to a possible move away from the club.
The Serbian winger completed a permanent transfer to Gyor ETO in the summer of 2025 and remains one of the team's key players. This season, he has scored two goals and provided two assists in five Hungarian league appearances. During the previous campaign, he recorded 12 goals and four assists in 37 competitive matches.
Gyor ETO won the Hungarian championship in the 2025/26 season, securing the fifth league title in the club's history and their first in 13 years. The team ended Ferencvaros' seven-year dominance, which had seen the Budapest club win every championship from 2019 to 2025.
Gavric started the decisive match against Kisvarda on May 16, 2026, which Gyor won 1-0 to secure the title.
The transfer window in Azerbaijan closes on September 10, leaving the clubs a limited amount of time to complete negotiations and register the player.
