Real Madrid supporters staged a display in support of Ceuta before their team's 2-1 victory over Inter Milan in the opening round of the Champions League league phase.
As reported by İdman.Biz, fans in the south stand of the Santiago Bernabeu unfurled thousands of Ceuta flags. The initiative was supported by the rest of the stadium, with spectators greeting the display with applause.
Supporters also chanted: "Ceuta is not for sale - Ceuta is defended!"
Ceuta is a Spanish autonomous city located on the northern coast of Africa, bordering Morocco. The territory regularly faces migration pressure due to its position on the border between Africa and the European Union.
The display followed a mass migration incident on July 30-31. According to Spanish media reports cited in the original account, tens of thousands of migrants attempted to cross the border illegally from Morocco.
